Ramana Maharishi's Ashram              Arunachalishwara Temple                     Arunachala Hill
On very rare occasions throughout the history of mankind, Spiritual giants have appeared to exemplify the Highest Truth, guiding followers by their conduct in every moment of their lives; Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi was such a giant. Unique in our time, He perfectly embodied the ultimate truth of Self-realisation, or complete absorption in the Supreme Itself.

Those who set out upon this quest are fulfilling the true purpose of life itself. This is not an easy path to follow, but be assured that every step taken in pursuit of Self-realisation, accumulates merit that is carried from birth to birth, until that final step is accomplished. This is the testimony of the Sages and doubt should never be allowed to divert you from your course.
The Arunachalishwara Temple is dedicated to Shiva and the element Fire. It is one of the five largest temples in South India. The inner sanctum was built 2000 years ago and has been a place of pilgrimage ever since.
The temple spans an area of 25 acres just adjoining the Arunachala hill. The sandal coloured eleven tiered temple tower is a joy to the eyes. The Rajagopuram tower is 217ft high.

As it is claimed by a devotee who frequents the temple ‘the feeling one gets in their presence was something like standing in the midst of a huge uncontrollable fire along with the feeling /sensing of unlimited security, joy and inexplicable association with everything and everyone’. Kings of various dynasties have had a strong connection with this temple.
Going around the holy Arunachala Hill is a tradition followed by people from time immemorial. It is stated that Goddess Parvathi performed the penance of Girivalam and claimed the left half of Shiva’s body. The field of spiritual energy around Thiruvannamalai can assist in the transformation of human consciousness into the realization or Ultimate Truth.

The mysterious energy around Thiruvannamalai awaken and catalyze the pilgrim’s compassion, wisdom, peace of mind and respect to the earth. It probably is this ultimate benefit that has made this journey around Arunachala popular with everyone like kings, saints, devotees, politicians, actors and many others from different walks of life.
"Arunachala is truly the holy place. Of all holy places it is the most sacred! Know that it is the heart of the world. It is truly Siva himself! It is his heart-abode, a secret kshetra. In that place the Lord ever abides the hill of light named Arunachala.” ~ Ramana Maharishi

"All stones in that place [Arunachala] are lingams. It is indeed the abode of Lord Siva. All trees are the wish-granting trees of Indra's heaven. Its rippling waters are the Ganges, flowing through our Lord's matted locks. The food eaten there is the ambrosia of the Gods. When men move about in that place it is the earth performing pradakshina around it. Words spoken there are holy scripture, and to fall asleep there is to be absorbed in samadhi, beyond the mind's delusion. Could there be any other place which is its equal?"  ~ Arunachala Puranam

The Golden Temple                          Sri Aurobindo's Ashram              Auroville- International                               (Sripuram)                                            (Pondicheri)                                  Eco Village
Sripuram, the spiritual oasis stands as a testimony to the creative manifestation of Sri Sakthi Amma’s divine vision, enabling humankind to tread the path of Dharma (righteousness), by understanding and transforming oneself, in the most difficult period of Kaliyuga.

The Golden Temple was built in a short span of 7 years. It was inaugurated on August 24, 2007. The consecration ceremony was witnessed by thousands of devotees. Since then, the temple has attracted hundreds of thousands of devotees; often breaching the 1 lakh mark on special occasions. The temple has also changed the face of  Thiruamalaikodi village and the nearby town - Vellore. In the coming years, the temple envisages to create a positive influence on the society and ultimately bring about a change.

As stated in the Mother's first public message about the township, "Auroville is meant to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities."

In the middle of the town is the Matrimandir (Sanskrit for Temple of The Mother) which is an edifice of spiritual significance for practitioners of Integral yoga. It is called soul of the city and is situated in a large open space called Peace. Matrimandir, does not belong to any particular religion or sect. Another interesting fact about Auroville is that some public drinking fountains feature "dynamised" water, which has been "made healthier" by having the water listen to Bach and Mozart.

Mythologically, the last quarter of a year, is the annual time when the Gods and Goddesses fought with the evil powers and won the battle and Karthigai Deepam is one among that auspicious day. Astrologically, this festival happens annually on the Krittika Nakshatra day in the Tamil month of Karthigai. This is the birthstar associated with Lord Muruga, or the archetype of the warrior who fights for light with his psychic weapon of higher consciousness.

About Lord Muruga

Lord Muruga, the son of Shiva, plays a vital role in the fight for light or consciousness. As Muruga was born out of the 3rd eye of Lord Shiva, the act itself symbolizes the birth of a higher consciousness and Muruga represents unlimited divine wisdom. Muruga also recited the meaning of 'OM' to Shiva thus the lamps lit on the day are in remembrance of sharing the ultimate knowledge of 'OM.' The knowledge of 'OM' helps in enlightenment and emancipation.

The Light Bridge Opens

Karthigai Deepam, is when a 'Light Bridge' is created to link the mundane material world to the higher frequency energy of the star cluster Krittika or the 'Pleiades', which includes the powerful Alcyone star. An energetic stream is created by the alignment of the Sun, Moon, Earth and Alycone and connects the two Worlds of Earth and Alycone. The Light of Higher Pleiadian Consciousness, outside of the visible light spectrum, floods the entire world. The light speeds up our vibration to match that of higher consciousness where everything and anything is possible. We need to take every opportunity to increase our light vibration; to increase our intelligence for the Golden Age.

Arunachala - The Light Bridge

Arunachala is the mountain of Thiruvannamalai that comes alive once a year and becomes the Light Bridge that spans the gap between the two realities enabling you to move gracefully between mundane or low human intelligence and divine intelligence. This mountain is called the mountain of fire and has existed in all ages in different forms. Fire symbolizes light, consciousness and intelligence.

The Mountain of Light

On Deepam night, countless invisible Siddhas and Saints visit the vortex along with the human pilgrims. These invisible enlightened beings visit the Earth plane during this auspicious time to bless those who are walking and to empower their prayers for the world. They've shown up as 'orbs' in photographs. All of the sages in different ages look forward to this one single day.

The mountain has existed in all the ages in different forms. In this Kali Yuga, the age of ignorance and darkness, it is a mountain made of rock to the perspective of the human eye, yet it has the divine unseen power to change the destiny of people.

Participating in this night's ritual with utmost sincerity can help one attain enlightenment thereby allowing you to experience the ultimate light that illumines the mind, soul and intellect. This Deepam ritual is said to be of immense importance for the whole world. The Deepam light is lit faithfully every year. The ritual represents and affirms a spiritual re-dedication and renewal of faith.

An annual 'sign' is that as soon as the lamp is ignited on top of the mountain, an eagle appears and circles the mountain. This eagle is considered the messenger from God to Bless the earth plane. TV channels from around the world converge on this divine site to witness this event.

Celebrating Deepam at the Mountain

On ‘Deepam’, a special light floods the entire earth plane with a karma dissolving light. Only the sages can see this light as it is of a different frequency than what the human eye can detect. To replicate this spiritual happening a huge lamp is lit on the top of the mountain with several thousands of gallons of oil, hand carried by pilgrims coming from all over India.

The Sri Aurobindo Ashram was founded by Sri Aurobindo on the 24 November 1926 (Siddhi Day). At the time there were no more than 24 disciples in the Ashram.[1] In December of that year, Sri Aurobindo decided to withdraw from public view, and appointed his co-worker Mirra Alfassa, thenceforth known as The Mother in charge of the ashram.

Today, the ashram is a large institution in the downtown area of Pondicherry. It provides many charitable benefits to the area, including free medical facilities and a publishing house

In Sri Aurobindo's system, the highest aim is the being of one, without the renunciation of life in the world. Such a fulfillment of the consciousness, the urge for perfection, must not be confined to few individuals but must extend to the masses, leading to a new type of being that is "eternal, self-existing, and inalienable".
